Position Description:

At CGI Federal’s Federal Solutions Group, we are looking for AWS Cloud Solution Architect to deliver IT excellence and create innovative solutions in the Cloud. Work with fellow AWS and Azure Architects and Engineers to form the best minds in cloud solutions and give innovative solutions to our clients.

*This position can be located anywhere, however candidates within a 50-mile radius of a CGI Federal office will be required to meet hybrid working model requirements*

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and implement cloud-based and cloud-native workloads while factoring in compliance, security, cost and industry best practices.
• Become subject matter experts and evangelize the latest technologies and tools to provide better efficiency and solution to other teams
• Collaborate with client’s application and infrastructure teams to gather functional and technical requirements
• Create detailed technical drawing of cloud-based solutions and reference architectures.
• Support and consult with clients in AWS deployments, migrations, operations and maintenance based on AWS Well Architected Framework

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 15 years of experience with AWS Cloud
• AWS Certifications – AWS Certified Solution Professional.
• Communication skills to work with your team, managers, business units and stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of DevOps tooling and principles, including infrastructure as code and continuous integration, release and deployment patterns and practices
• Experience architecting solutions in response to RFP and Business Development efforts for the Federal Government
• Must be comfortable creating and presenting technical topics.
• Needs to have the ability to develop and contribute while working seamlessly in a distributed team via collaboration tools
• Possess strong ability to identify and define business, technical, and security requirements, align them with Cloud Services, and make recommendations for solutions to meet the customer’s requirements
• Must own ability to learn fast, adapt to new technology and keep current with industry standards & certifications
• Strong consulting and customer service focus to work with CGI Business Units and customers to understand their requirements, and problems in order to design right-fit solutions
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Additional AWS (Associate level, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or Specialty), Cloud and Security Certifications (AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, CEH, GIAC or Security+)
• Bachelor level technical degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including automation and standard deployment models (canary, blue/green, etc.).
• Experience in supporting container-based applications, microservices patterns and API`s in AWS (Docker, AWS ECS, AWS ECR, AWS Fargate, AWS EKS, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (C#, Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, etc.) or shell scripting language (POSIX shell/Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud networking patterns and services, such as load balancing, overlay networking, VPN and multi-datacenter networking
• Knowledge of at least one of federal compliance standards (CMMC, DoD SRG, DoD STIGs, FedRAMP and NIST) is preferred.
• Understanding and desire to work with AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (Machine Learning) and Big Data services and solutions.

Additional Requirements:

• Due to the nature of the government contracts, we support, US Citizenship is required.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 – $219,600.00.
