We are looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to join our 24×7 Enterprise Technical Operations Centre (ETOC). We need someone that can work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Someone that wants to experience the thrill of using the latest technology and tools as we continue to deploy/refresh/support systems across North America. Your future duties and responsibilities:
Implement solutions and perform modifications, installation and maintenance across a variety of technology platforms:
* Virtual Infrastructure environments (VMware/Oracle VM)
* Public (Azure/AWS/Google) and Private Cloud
* Multi-Client Server environments (Windows/UNIX)
* Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (Nutanix)
* Coordinate the delivery of services in partnership with our external suppliers and internal team of experts (Security, Virtualization, Network, etc)
* Deploy industry standard tools and Develop/Maintain best practices to meet internal delivery targets and client contractual requirements
* Conduct system assessments, report/remediate security vulnerabilities and monitor the ongoing management of systems with our Operations team
* Implement planned changes (server configuration, upgrades, repairs etc.) as part of solution deployments, modifications and maintenance when required
* Identify, investigate and resolve problems in compliance with established procedures and best practices
* Follow established ITIL processes for handling incidents, tasks and requests for changes.
* Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
* Knowledge of Windows, UNIX and Virtual Technologies — Bonus points for having AWS/Azure certifications
* Hands-on experience with Enterprise grade server hardware configuration/repair
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Good knowledge of industry standard methodologies — Bonus points for having an ITIL certification
* Motivated and proactive self-starter
* Excels when working in a collaborative environment
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), French language skills would also be an asset
* Ability to acquire a Government of Canada security clearance – Level II (Secret)
* Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule as a member of our 24×7 support team
* University or College degree in Computer Science with directly related practical experience; or 2-5 years relevant experience in a client supporting technical role (service desk, system administrator, etc.) with knowledge of operational best practices
