Location: AB, Edmonton, 10303 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Hybrid, primarily remote required in office as needed.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Design and develop solutions for system and application software issues and enhancements.
Assist in the resolution of production issues raised by users with the supported applications.
Install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
Participate in software development discussions based on software development activities.
Create well-organized, maintainable code that follows standards and meets technical specifications.
Unit testing of code and remediation of code defects
Ensure technical specifications meet government policies and industry directions for technologies.
Review computer software systems and data requirements as well as communication and response needs and determine requirements needed to support them.

Deliverables:
Create technical specifications when required.
Design and coordinate development and testing environments
Provide task estimates.
Participate in the analysis of system performance procedures.
Participate in the design, development and testing workshops

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience
Must be enrolled in a co-op accredited program.

Technical Skills:
Understand the system development lifecycle.
Has participated on a development project.

Soft Skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn quickly
Critical eye for detail
Positive attitude
Able to multitask effectively.
Have excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills.
Able to adapt quickly to changing client requirements.
Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.

Nice to have
Experience using VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET and/or the .NET framework.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Experience with Angular and/or MVC frameworks
Experience with object-oriented design practices
Experience in an environment with continuous integration (TFS Build, MSbuild or equivalents
Experience in performing unit testing / system testing activities
Experience providing production support.
