The Role:
As a Children and Youth Mental Health Clinician, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting children and youth facing moderate to severe mental health challenges. You’ll provide intake, assessment, and evidence-based treatment, working closely with caregivers and other professionals to create personalized treatment plans. Your work will directly impact the lives of children, youth, and their families, helping them navigate challenges and reduce the symptoms of mental illness. With ongoing opportunities for professional growth and development, this role offers the chance to do meaningful work in a supportive team environment in the heart of the West Shore community.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two (2) years or more full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Experience working with parents/caregivers and adolescents.
  • Experience providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) group and/or individual therapy to youth and the families who struggle with emotion dysregulation, high-risk behaviours and/or safety concerns.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home 1 day a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
