Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Product Management Consultant within IBM iX (under IBM Consulting), you are a trusted advisor that leads the product strategy and technical delivery for large enterprise clients. With your seasoned experience working in Agile & product-centric organizations, you provide leadership to project teams to ensure the successful delivery of digital experience solutions, across multiple channels including web and mobile. These solutions encompass the latest in digital technologies, including AI, cloud, mobility, and automation to deliver market-leading digital experiences. You take ownership of the product success, relentlessly reinventing the experience to drive efficiencies and business outcomes. You simultaneously work with both the business owners as well as the delivery teams to ensure alignment and product excellence. Your expertise will span across multiple clients and sectors to help identify opportunities, develop industry-leading recommendations, and support the growth of our business. You use your deep understanding of the client’s needs to identify opportunities to add business value. At the core of everything you do, you continuously empathize with our clients and their customers, building clients’ trust and co-inventing the future along the way.

Product Leadership & Delivery Excellence (70%)
• Drive the planning and execution of digital products throughout their lifecycle, collaborating across disciplines (business, technology) on the product roadmap development, requirements gathering, and release planning
• Deeply understand the client’s business including: the organizational goals, stakeholders, customers, pain points, and competitive landscape to enable informed, data-driven decisions
• Create and present product strategy documents that define the problem, business case, consumer needs, market trends, competitive analysis, technical requirements, and potential solution directions
• Write and prioritize stories for executing against the product plan, and liaise between the development team and the client to track execution and acceptance into release
• Collaborate with user experience and design, engaging with customers, and communicating capabilities bundled in a release
• Manage requirements and product outcomes across client delivery teams (working closely with team members across design, development, and QA)
• Track and analyze results of the clients’ product portfolio against KPIs and OKRs leading to actionable insights that drive the product roadmap
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation including collateral to support customer-focused teams
• Advise client teams on best-in-class product execution frameworks and methodologies and coach team members on Agile best practices

Account Building & IBM Eminence (30%)
• Develop lasting relationships as a trusted partner with client decision makers (trust built from successful product leadership and delivery)
• Actively help our clients explore disruptive strategies that create business value
• Grow as a trusted partner by researching industry trends, competitive benchmarking, and strategic opportunities to share internally and with clients
• Promote IBM’s growth and eminence by supporting thought leadership and business development activities such as proposal development
• Coach and mentor aspiring product professionals within IBM iX on product management concepts, career development, and strategic decision-making tactics

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following characteristics:
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Business, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• 5-7 years of experience in product management, consulting, technology, or related field, with experience delivering user-centric digital engagements
• User-centric mentality with experience conducting user research, applying design thinking methodologies, and leading/working with cross-functional teams
• Agile product certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner or Certified SAFe PO/PM) or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of technical engineering concepts (i.e. test-driven development, continuous delivery, etc.)
• Ability to work under pressure, manage client expectations appropriately, and proactively manage risks and issues
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal/written) with the ability to articulate complex ideas as easy-to-understand concepts to all levels of an organization

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Bonus Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or equivalent
• Experience working on product delivery with financial services clients
