Position Description:

We are Canada’s largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we’re still growing! Join us as a “Senior Full Stack Developer” in our team.

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications throughout the development lifecycle. This role involves troubleshooting issues, providing 3rd-level production support, and contributing to agile team collaboration. The ideal candidate has experience with mid to large-scale applications, offers technical leadership, and mentors junior developers.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate and assist other developers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications.
• Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.
• Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements, specifications, and designs.
• Research and document detailed design of the business systems.
• Oversee the unit testing of program logic, data processing, and error resolution.
• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
• Liaise with operational teams to assist in resolving problems with software products or business systems and identifying and fixing root cause of incidents.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the team
• Where required, provide recommendations, explanations, guidance on their functional area to other teams in the organization

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• College Diploma or University Degree in the field of computer science or software engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years equivalent work experience.
• Expert in Java frameworks and technologies such as: JDBC, Java IO concurrency, multithreading,
reflection, EJB, JSP/JSF, JMS, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Hibernate and Struts.
• Extensive technical knowledge of programming languages such as: Java, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Expert in SOA, RESTful service, Web Service, JSON, XML, Schema
• Extensive knowledge of Spring Security for SSO and oAuth.
• Extensive knowledge of Tomcat and WebLogic is required, JBoss is optional.
• Extensive knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JSON, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript Wicket and Bootstrap.
• Solid experience with Software Configuration Management tools and processes such as: Git, Ant, Maven, Gradle and Nexus
• Working technical knowledge of Salesforce
• Understanding and exposure to agile task allocation and defect management
• Extensive experience with UNIX operating systems is a must, Linux is optional.
• Extensive experience with relational databases – Oracle is preferred.
• Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets
• Knowledge of Messaging technologies (IBM MQ, Active MQ, Kafka) is an asset.
• Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, CRI-O, Kubernetes) is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with Jenkins and GitHub Action are an asset.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Exadata on OCI and Azure SQL / Data Warehouse solutions is a plus
• Familiarity with the financial industry is an asset.
