Salary: IS R27  $71,298.93 to $81,387.14per annum  PLUS 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment ($76,004.55 to $86,758.61

The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

LDB’s Information Technology Division (IT) provides reliable, responsive and secure systems and services to support LDB in operational excellence and delivering superior customer service.  

The LDB’s Information Technology Division consists of six departments and 23 distinctive units, with 200+ FTEs. IT has adopted a multi-sourcing strategy and leverages a combination of internal and external expertise, including outsourced services, contracted services and shared services, to deliver the IT mandate of supporting current operations and future business needs. Strategic plans, governance of standards and risk management are all developed internally to support Divisional and Corporate goals.

The Senior Developer provides analytical and programming support to the LDB for the design, development, maintenance and enhancement of corporate, wholesale and retail business applications, as well as complex enterprise integration solutions. This position requires extensive experience in software development lifecycle with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Maintains and develops existing applications in various programming languages such as Java .NET, PL/SQL, DELPHI, Oracle Reporting.

Applications vary in complexity, cost and business significance entailing both short and long term projects.  Projects may be either of a self-contained nature or ones which require assigning/coordinating/supervising work performed by other assigned Developers to support business information objectives in a multi-product, multi-outlet, high volume retail, wholesale, or corporate organization.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:  

A Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of six years of recent and related experience*  

Recent related experience must have occurred in the last 10 years and must include the following:  

  • Extensive experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) development
  • Oracle eBusiness Applications, using PL/SQL, Oracle Reports, XML Publisher Report
  • Oracle r12 eBusiness Suite Focus including the following:  
    • Experience in analysis, design, development, implementation and support of R12 Oracle E-business Suite
    • Experience with Oracle E-Business modules covering the Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
    • Experience with Oracle API’s and Open Interfaces,  

Preference may be given to those candidates with experience in the following:   

  • Experience and functional knowledge with various Oracle EBS modules such as GL, AP, AR, CM, FA, PO, BOM, Inventory etc.
  • Experience with Oracle WorkFlow
  • Experience with Oracle Application Framework 

Knowledge:

  • Experience in developing interfaces with the Oracle SOA and ESB Integration toolset
  • Knowledge of SOA methodologies, processes and tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Visio & Microsoft Project.  

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written, oral communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, problem solving and judgement abilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with individuals at various levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce results within deadlines
