Position Description:

The Compensation Consultant is a data investigator, expert communicator, and problem-solver who will be a subject matter expert in the Total Compensation Centre of Expertise. This person will play a key analytical and partner role in the administration of various compensation programs (e.g. salary reviews, profit sharing).

The Consultant must be able to produce global data analyses as requested. The Consultant will be responsible for overseeing and managing compensation programs across Canada, ensuring competitive pay structures, internal equity, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Partnering with Total Compensation and HR teams to implement effective compensation strategies, the ideal candidate will have strong analytical and interpersonal skills, an understanding of compensation practices, and the ability to provide actionable insights that align with the organization’s goals.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

-Develop, evaluate, and maintain salary structures and compensation guidelines that align with business needs.
-Collaborate with HR Business Partners to communicate compensation policies and programs, providing clarity on pay structures and processes.
-Audit compensation data in HR systems and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
-Utilize HR technology to streamline compensation processes and reporting.
-Perform complex analyses of compensation data, including salary benchmarking, incentive programs, pay equity, and total compensation packages.
-Provide insights into merit increases, bonuses, and other reward programs.
-Compensation projects as per strategic priorities: Partner with cross-functional teams to improve compensation processes.
-Act as a compensation subject matter expert: advising HR teams, by providing training and guidance on compensation policies and processes to ensure understanding across the organization.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Education
-Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
-2+ years of experience in compensation/total rewards analysis (e.g. job evaluation, pay structure, pay equity, incentive programs, etc.).
Skills and Knowledge
-Strong analytical skills, including strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
-Deep understanding of compensation practices and market trends.
-Ability to develop and communicate complex compensation strategies and reports.
-Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies such as Hay, Mercer IPE, and/or Willis Towers Watson.
-Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
