The Team
The Surrey Provincial Court team is a well-established, dynamic group of dedicated professionals who provide essential registry services, including case documentation and adjudication support. This team plays a vital role in ensuring access to justice by supporting the court system across a variety of cases, including criminal, family, and small claims. Working alongside justice partners, the team fosters a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone is valued and contributes to the efficient functioning of the court system. The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining case tracking systems to ensure accurate recording and processing of court files, including managing electronic filing systems. You’ll interpret complex court documents to provide precise information, supporting the efficient processing of materials required by the court. Additionally, you’ll offer information services to court system users, produce detailed reports, and assist with routine office tasks such as filing, photocopying, and operating office equipment. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team and support the accessibility and fairness of the justice system.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
• Grade 12 or equivalent (e.g. GED)
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in an office environment; an equivalent combination of education and other work experience may be considered.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing and standard computer applications. (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with keyboarding at a minimum of 40 words per minute (WPM)
Preference may be given to applicants with:
• Experience with JUSTIN and/or CEIS and Court Clerk Desktop (CCD)
• Experience or education in a related legal environment
• Experience delivering customer service
• Experience in registry and in court activity programs
