British Columbia’s Natural Resource Ministries (NRM) are the stewards of the Province’s Crown land and natural resources which reflect the diverse values and interests of all British Columbians. In order to support the growth of the economy while providing effective environmental stewardship, the province’s NRM must transform in order to advance the shared management of British Columbia’s natural resources.

 The Information, Innovation and Technology (IIT) Division is leading the modernization and transformation of business practices for the NRM through continuous improvement projects, new technology options and operational information management/information technology (IM/IT). The IIT Division is providing leadership for IM/IT planning, policy and business process solutions and is also the single authority for all information and technology across the NRM.

The Project Manager – Intermediate will manage projects with significant impact, a range of stakeholders and assigned resources.  As project manager, you will be accountable for defining and controlling all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget and specified quality.  The Project Manager – Intermediate will also provide business analysis and client support services including conducting joint technology planning sessions with clients to identify and document business situations requiring technological and transformational solutions; prepare proposals, briefing notes and client communications; and provide other required business analyst and project manager support to projects and applications IIT is responsible for.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma or equivalent in computer science, business administration, public administration, natural resource management, or other related field.
  • Recent experience (within the last 3 years) managing information technology-based projects
  • Two years of experience in project management and/or business analysis related to integrated custom and/ or COTS applications with complex business processes.

Preference may be given to applicants with

  • Project Management Professional designation or qualified to complete the Project Management Professional designation within 6 months of commencement or
  • Project Management Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institute.
