British Columbia’s natural resource ministries are a key driver of economic activity and employment in the province. To support the growth of the economy while providing effective environmental stewardship, the province’s natural resource ministries must transform to become a shared manager of British Columbia’s natural resources and to make authorization decisions that appropriately balance social, economic and environmental objectives.
The Natural Resource Transformation Secretariat (NRTS) is leading the transformation on behalf of the five natural resource ministries. NRTS is responsible for delivering the Natural Resource Permitting Project (NRPP), an initiative that involves an investment to integrate legislation, processes, technology, data and the workforce across the natural resource ministries and other agencies. The NRPP is a long-term, large scale initiative that will involve dozens of projects implemented in a phased approach. This multi-year initiative is aimed at protecting British Columbia’s natural resources, improving services, streamlining processes, sharing government decision making and improving access to information.
Reporting to the Organizational Development Change Advisor, the HR Coordinator provides a full range of personnel and hiring services to NRTS. The position acts as an information linkage between NRTS employees and the BC Public Service Agency and provides advice to managers and employees regarding a wide range of human resources policies and procedures. The role is also responsible for the administration of the staffing process and streamlining of HR processes.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
• Post-secondary training/education (certificate, Diploma or Degree) in human resources or related field.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an administrative role in a professional office environment with at least 1 year involving aspects of human resource management, which includes experience assisting with human resource administrative function s, payroll and leave management including consulting with the appropriate agency for guidance, submitting paperwork and verifying information.
• Experience developing and implementing tracking and monitoring systems.
• Experience typing, formatting, and proofreading a variety of documents and materials.
Preference may be given to candidates who:
• Have 1 year of experience working on an Executive floor or in an Executive office (includes an Executive Director, President, CEO, ADM, DM, etc.).
