As executive’s partner in leading the people dimension of strategy, the People and Workplace Strategies Branch ensures ministries’ workforce needs are strategically aligned with ministry needs to ensure they have the programs and initiatives in place to drive excellence for not only current staff fulfilling the ministerial mandate, but to attract, retain, and propel future staff as well.

Operating in a shared services model and reporting to the Executive Director, the Director leads a team of professionals in the delivery of strategic HR services to four natural resource ministries. The position also leads the development and implementation of large-scale ministry or multiple ministry organizational development initiatives that support client ministry business and strategic goals.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-secondary degree in human resources, public administration, business administration or a related field plus a minimum of five years’ *related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and *related experience may be considered.

*Related experience includes:

  • Experience providing advice and support to executive level clients. Minimum of three years may be preferred.
  • Experience supervising a team of professional employees. Minimum of five years may be preferred.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in the Strategic HR field.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience supporting large, diverse or multiple organizations simultaneously.
  • Preference may be given to applicants who have extensive knowledge of BC Public Service processes and systems.
