The Advanced Financial Planning department is made up of a growing team that includes 35 accountants, lawyers and financial planners and provides financial planning support, training and resource material to IG Wealth Management Consultants. The financial planning support provided includes taxation, estate planning and insurance support on complex cases and non-technical support for the financial planning software.  The department also represents Investors Group and its financial planning expertise to the media, the public and professional organizations through interviews and presentations.

 

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager to join our Advanced Financial Planning team.

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for providing advanced taxation and estate planning advice, client meeting support, training and resource materials to IG Wealth Management Consultants. The position also provides advice to other head office departments and represents IG Wealth Management’s financial planning approach to the media, clients, the public and professional associations.

 

Responsibilities include:

Provide advanced taxation and estate planning and other financial planning support IG Wealth Management Consultants, by responding to their questions on will and estate planning, taxation and other financial planning issues received by telephone and e-mail.
Provide written reports to support IG Wealth Management Consultants, based on detailed analysis, for complex high asset client situations, advising on will and estate planning, tax planning and other financial planning opportunities, strategies and issues.
Participate in meetings or conference calls with clients and/or their professional advisors on matters relating to estate and tax planning.
Initiate, develop and deliver advanced estate planning, taxation and other financial planning training for support IG Wealth Management Consultants.
Develop and update financial planning resource tools for IG Wealth Management Consultants.
Provide advice and training to other support IG Wealth Management departments on advanced estate planning, taxation and other financial planning issues (including the review of corporate materials, advertisements, client collateral relating to financial planning, participation on editorial committees for production of client publications, advice on new product development and on the appropriateness of various financial planning solutions).
Obtain the Financial Planner license with IPF.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years experience in advanced will, estate and tax planning. Candidates who have completed the CICA in-depth tax course or who have a degree in a recognized university program in taxation will be preferred.
Attainment of a university degree and CPA licensed.
A continuous learner who stays on top of business trends and tax technical changes.
Flexible, able to work with light supervision and adapt to change.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English.
Strong public speaking and training skills.
Bilingualism (French and English).
Proficiency with Windows environment PC based tools.
