BC Timber Sales (BCTS) manages about 20 per cent of the province’s allowable annual cut for Crown timber, generating economic prosperity for British Columbians through the safe, sustainable development and auction of Crown timber.  BCTS operates in 33 communities and directly supports over 8,000 jobs across B.C.

Data from our operations are used to help determine the market value of the timber harvested from public land and ensures British Columbians receive fair value from their timber resources. 

BCTS also supports government’s commitment to true, lasting reconciliation with First Nations in BC as we move toward fully adopting and implementing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The goal of BCTS is to provide credible representative price and cost benchmark data for the market pricing system through auctions of timber harvested from public land in BC.  BCTS has three objectives supporting its goal:

Project Manager

This is a great opportunity to join our CGI team in Halifax providing leading IT services to our clients. We are seeking 3 experienced Project Managers who have managed mid-large sized application management and development projects in a complex environment. The successful candidates will ideally have a strong delivery background in the Public Sector but is not mandatory.

In the role of a Project Manager, you would be responsible for the successful delivery of project budget, timeframes and customer satisfaction, enabling new and extension business. You will ensure resourcing is achieved and performance reviews are completed for people assigned to your projects as well as managing client relationship.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Development of project proposals, project charters, and project management plans
• Managing the time and effort of the project team
• Ensuring proper change, scope, risk, and expectation management are applied
• Reporting accurate project financial and profitability figures
• Holding regular status meeting with team and clients and providing regular status reporting
• Playing a lead role in the development of business requirements documentation
• Prepare and present senior client executives

Required qualifications to be successful in this role (Mandatory)
• Experience working with provincial or municipal governments.
• Five years or more as a Project Manager
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed written, verbal and presentation skills
• Must be goal oriented, results driven, and client focused
• Strategic and operational business planning
• Governance and organizational design
• Change management and communications
• Undergraduate degree such as Business, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent
• Project Management training and certification (PMP)

Desirable Skills
• Certified Management Consulting (CMC)
• Change Management training and certification

Must have experience working with Municipal/Provincial governments.
Must have authorization to work in Canada.
Position requires one to be based in Halifax preferably or Atlantic Canada.

Azure DevOps Engineer

This is a great opportunity to join our CGI team in Halifax providing leading IT services to our clients. We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer who has delivered mid-large sized DevOps projects in a complex environment. The successful candidate will join our Cloud and Infrastructure Practice and will ideally have a strong technical background and experience in the Public Sector.

In the role of a DevOps Engineer, the successful candidate will be familiar with all phases of SDLC and Consulting Lifecycle through architecture, design, delivery and implementation. The person will be comfortable presenting complex technical concepts to a variety of audience both within and outside of CGI and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Assist with manual and automation pipelines for progressing code from development to production.
• Ensure security practices are established for secret and credential management as used by manual and automation pipelines.
• Optimize and speed-up release processes to deliver fast business value.
• Be comfortable working with Agile teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to multitask effectively.
• Assist with development and strategy for branching and repo management.
• Migrate development/test code to production (Manual and Automated)
• Design and documentation for foundation and associated deliverable artifacts.
• Create pipelines to automatically deploy and configure storage, databases, and other infrastructure assets for use by clients.
• Automate the deployment of cloud infrastructure (Azure).
• Assist technology PM with development of DevOps Culture.
• Help maintain and establish good branching/merge processes for a wide variety of projects (Azure Synapse, Application Code, etc.).

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree or relevant mix of education and work experience.
• 4+ years’ experience in DevOps role
• 3+ years’ experience with Azure DevOps is mandatory
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Up to date knowledge on CI/CD Pipelines
• Experience within a consulting role is considered an asset
• Cloud certifications are considered an asset

Must have experience working with Municipal/Provincial governments.
Must have authorization to work in Canada.
Position requires one to be based in Halifax.
